Sundog Media Newsletter
January  2008
Happy New Years!
Well it is truly hard to believe that it is 2008. Seems like I was just putting aside extra bottles of water and stacking firewood for Y2K.  In fact we didn't have children then and this year our eldest son, Caleb, will be turning 7 and Joshua 4 ~ Wow!

I am really exited about this year.  Being one of those people that sit down and write out a bunch of resolutions for each year, I've broken them down into categories such as: Family, Spiritual, Health, Business & Big Life Goals. That said, you might not be too concerned whether I'm able to do 10 pull ups or  we complete the 500 mile rowing/sailing trip we've planned for Alaska's Inside Passage.  But.. here are some of our team goals that will affect you as Sundog Media enters into its 11th year of operation ~ 2008.

Goal 1: Monthly Newsletters
~ To produce a quality informative newsletter that will be distributed to our clientele once a month ~ These newsletters are not only an opportunity to show off recent web sites we have launched and great logo designs, they provide you with helpful information and ideas.  Our goal is to help you see where and how we can assist you in better marketing yourselves.

Goal 2: Sundog BaseCamp Sundog Base Camp
With the variety of our clients and our very virtual team, it has become more of a challenge to track, manage, and stay on top of projects. Sundog Base Camp to the rescue - o.k. We have just added Sundog Media to "BaseCamp" a product put out by 37 Signals. Basecamp is the smarter, easier, more elegant way to collaborate on your intern and client projects. Simply put, Sundog BaseCamp improves the communication between the people working together on a project. If you are not already plugged into Sundog BaseCamp you will be excited when you initiate any work with us this year. In fact, one of our clients liked how it works so much that they hired us to setup a BaseCamp system for their entire organization's management.

Goal 3: Grow our team and services
The challenge with any business is to grow but still maintain the high quality of service that we take pride in providing at Sundog Media. We have gradually grown both our core team at the office as well as our virtual team of contractors.

At the start of this new year, I am pleased to introduce our newest team member, Kristian Pettyjohn. Kristian has 5 years of experience in the video editing software, Final Cut Pro, and is an avid Mac guy who likes to spend as much time as he can on a snowboard. Basically, he fits that "Web Guy" stereotype; young, snowboarding techno ... O.K. I won't say geek because, well ~ We all are here!  So - one goal for this year is to put some of Kristian's experience into play by adding video services to our list.  More and more of our customers have requested to have video on their sites, now we are able to offer it.  Just give us a quick email or call. To learn more about our team - please go to Sundog Media.

Goal 4: Staying Cutting Edge
So, what is "Cutting Edge" anyway - well one dictionary characterizes it as follows:  Something that is cutting edge is at the forefront of progress in its area.  This is a pretty broad goal but we want to give our guarantee that our team is constantly monitoring the industry's trends and actively adapting industry standards that relate to your businesses into our practices. We believe that sites we produce should be lean, clean, CSS-based, accessible, usable and search engine friendly and we continue to do our best to ensure they are.

So, these are just a few of our goals. I would share more but I really need to head to the gym and crank out some pullups and spend a little time on the rowing machine.  If you would like to learn about one of my crazy life dreams that I am attempting this year - check out SundogVoyages.

Happy New Year!
