Instructions for Mac OS X Mail

OS X Mail Step 1 From the "Mail" Menu Select "Preferences".
OS X Mail Step 2 Select "Create an account" (Click the button circled in red below).
OS X Mail Step 3 Enter your name, email address, and password and click "Continue".
OS X Mail Step 4 Fields to note: Account Type: POP Description: Your choice Incoming Mail Server: mail.yourdomain.com User Name: This is your full email address (ex: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it ) Password: Enter as assigned to you by Sundog Media. (case-sensitive ex: pass ≠ PASS) Click "Continue".
OS X Mail Step 5a Fields to note: Description: Your choice Outgoing Mail Server: mail.yourdomain.com Use Authentication: Checked User Name: This is your full email address (ex: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it ) Password: Enter as assigned to you by Sundog Media. (case-sensitive ex: pass ≠ PASS) Click "Continue". (This step can take a while to complete as it tests the settings, if you get the message that the certificate is not valid or cannot be validated etc. choose to connect anyway and see Step 5b.) Send yourself an email to test your new settings.
OS X Mail Step 5b After the test completes you should be returned to the main accounts window. Click the "Advanced" button along the top of the window (seen here bracketed in blue) the screen below is what you should see. If the "Use SSL" check box is checked (seen here circled in red) un-check it.
The setting should look like the illustration below. Close the Window and choose to Save the settings if prompted.
