New Sundog Site – Violently Executed!

SiteOne of my favorite quotes by George S. Patton is “A good plan violently executed now is better than a perfect plan executed next week.” I often share this quote with customers to encourage them to launch their sites early and then improve the site once it’s live. So, sometimes you have to take your own advice. Slowly, in the background over the last year, we have been working on our new website and although we have a lot yet we want to accomplish we just decided to launch. Unlike a print brochure which is so important to get right the first time, with a website you should plan on launching early and testing and fine tuning real time. With all that said, I just want to thank my team who made the new site happen and ask anyone reading this to please go to https://www.sundogmedia.com and give us your feedback. You can email me directly from my page at https://www.sundogmedia.com/team/joe-law/

Exciting New Features

Portfolio1. BETTER PORTFOLIO
One of the most important parts of our site is sharing the work we do for the great customers we are blessed to serve. The old saying goes that the proof is in the pudding.  We can talk all day long about 17 years in business, our teams’ experience and so forth, but at the end of the day, what matters most is if we consistently produce quality work and provide excellent service. So, take a look at our work, ask our customers and make your own decision.

2. MAP FEATURE
I am very excited to now showcase our projects based on the location of our customers. Seeing dots across the state of Alaska and even branching out into the rest of the states brings me pleasure. I love Alaska.  The state, the people and beauty play a huge role in my inspiration and I hope, over the years, to see more dots on the map in more locations all across the state. Please click on the dots and check out how these showcase our customers projects and links to a detail page about the projects.

3. BETTER TEAM PAGE
What is a company? At the heart of it are the people who make it all happen: we who get up each day excited to serve our customers and each other as we work to make the world a little better with the gifts and talents we have been given. Each of our team members has a page telling a little about their story, what they do for fun, where their inspiration comes from and some wonderful photos that share a little of their passion. A quick look at my page makes me realize that it is time to update my photo with one that is, well a bit more gray haired. While you are checking out our team members be sure and give a big welcome to our newest team member, Paul Davidson.

Support4. QUICK SUPPORT
We really wanted this link to stand out so that we can offer timely support. It is, of course, fastest to receive support by contacting your account manager through BaseCamp but sometimes we forget our link and just need a quick way to call out for help. Although we are not perfect, we really strive to be exceptionally responsive, helpful and friendly wherever we can.

Yet To Be Done

1. GO MOBILE FRIENDLY
One of the next big steps is to make the new site mobile friendly through responsive development. We have been digging deep into mobile friendly development for the last year and many of our new sites have this integrated. You can learn a little more about this by clicking here.

2. MOVE TO GENESIS 2.0
All WordPress websites we build take advantage of the amazing Genesis framework created by the team at StudioPress.
Here is a nice video that explains Genesis »

3. NEW LOGO COMING
TatThe Sundog logo on the new site is getting close but it’s not the final version. I have to be honest, the new logo design for Sundog Media LLC has been a challenge.  After all it is hard to design a bright reflection of the sun. I am determined to stick with it until I love it so much that I am willing to have it tattooed on my body. In fact, here is one that I was considering, how do you think it looks on me? Nice abs, right? I am hoping to roll out the new logo in the next couple of months, and will be sharing my progress for feedback. I promise, no more tattoo photos.

4. NEW NEWSLETTER DESIGN
We have named our monthly newsletters “Bright Spots” and hope to be rolling out a new design that better matches our new site within the next month.

We are excited about the new features of our website, and have a long list of to-do’s yet to be completed, but I just want to encourage each of you to not let perfection keep you from launching your next project, dream or adventure – execute violently today!

Sincerely,

Joe Law
