Alaska Fisheries Development Foundation is embarking on its 30th year of working on behalf of the fishing industry in Alaska. They have a long track record of working with Federal and state fisheries management agencies, the fishing industry, and the scientific community to find ways to bring greater economic value and conservation to Alaska’s fisheries. As an entity that is affiliated with the fishing community yet does not have a governmental or regulatory role, they are in a unique position to partner with industry to explore new research and development opportunities that can lead to productive changes in fisheries management at a later time. To our knowledge, there is no other entity in this region that can perform such a role.
