What is Your Alaska Story?
Born in Nome and raised in McGrath and Nome, I proudly call both my hometown. Now I live in Wasilla with my husband and three daughters, where we enjoy all the beauty that Southcentral Alaska has to offer.
What Do You Do For Fun?
I love hiking, running, and exploring Alaska all year long. Dog mushing during the winter is one of my favorite activities. Doing as much of this with my family and friends only makes it better.
How Did You Get Into This Gig?
I have always been intrigued by the world wide web. Tinkering around with creating small websites lead to a full-fledged career. Search engine optimization naturally fed into that because what good is a website if nobody can find it?
Seeing Sundog Media’s portfolio of so many Alaskan Native corporations and companies that support our Alaskan communities, I knew I wanted to be a part of a team that promoted the purpose, goals, and values of these organizations.
Where Do You Get Your Inspiration?
As a web developer, I find myself in front of a computer for long hours at a time. It’s a part of my job, after all. When I feel I need a break, I recharge myself by taking long walks through my neighborhood. Being outside and moving my body gets my creative juices flowing again.
Whether I am taking a walk or a road-trip with my family, it’s always a breath of fresh air. Alaska is an inspiring place to live. All you need to do is open your eyes a little bit to see it all around you.
