The Secret to Twenty Years of Success

Goals

A friend of mine likes to say, “Be careful how you define success”, with the idea that you may one day look back and realize you have been pursuing the wrong goals. Another much older quote that has a poignant impact is from Henry David Thoreau that goes like this: “The mass of men lead lives of quiet desperation.” It shows this whole challenge of successful living is not a new challenge for humankind.

At Sundog, our definition of success is not limited by a measure of profit and loss statements. Although we strive to make a quality living, it is measured more by the value we bring our customers, while still allowing time to live a full and meaningful life. Our team truly desires to produce amazing work and provide even more spectacular service. We are blessed to be able to serve our awesome customers this way for over 20 years now.

Sundog Core Values

I like to take a ‘top-down’ approach to my goal setting: Spiritual, Family, Physical, and Business, setting goals within each of these areas. In fact, I keep this list always within my inbox so I frequently review and see how it’s going.

If reading great books is one of your goals this year here is one of my favorites and don’t laugh at the title  – “Me, Myself & Bob”. Yep, the story of the creator of veggie tales! With 5 children, I have seen all of the videos. The book, which is a biography by the creator and details his journey to immense success and then to bankruptcy, has had a big impact on my perspective as the leader of Sundog Media and the goals on which our team will focus.

Happy New Year! May it be filled with love, laughter, joy and immense opportunity.
